BW Summer Festival, (formally known as BW Campgrounds) was established on the sunny shores of Gisborne, East Coast, Aotearoa in the early summer of 2004.
BW Summer Festival was born to help host the thousands of visitors venturing to the district for the Rhythm and Vines New Years Eve festival which just happens to be easily the dopest party of the year.

BW began simply as 1 campground with a bit of a spin but has now grown into something much more than that. BW now operates a range of camps all within walking distance of each other and hosts over 16,000 people each season!! Also added in 2007 was the Jim Beam Sound Shell, an amphitheatre concert venue right next door, which plays host to BW’s gangster music  line up.

Gisborne has always been a special and popular place to welcome in the new-year. However, due to the massive success of both Rhythm and Vines and BW, Gisborne has completely ‘blown up’ as a New Years destination. The number of young visitors (18-30yrs) to the district has increased exponentially in recent years, resulting in Gisborne firmly holding pole position as the premium place in NZ to celebrate the New Year.BW encompasses everything that is a kiwi summer. First of all you have the epic road trip, then the great NZ music, surf, sunshine, beautiful beaches, camping, good company and lets not forget epic parties!!!!!
